Several teams outside the top 10 of the national rankings have a chance to get a statement victory tonight.

Hawai’i and Cal State Northridge highlight the slate of matches tonight as both teams try to move up in the MPSF standings. In addition, Princeton will attempt to bounce back from a winless West Coast road trip with a non-conference match against IPFW.

Teams release ticket options for 2014 college men’s volleyball season

The start to the college men’s volleyball season is still a few weeks away, but teams are already beginning the process of trying to fill their stands for the upcoming season.

While a majority of college men’s volleyball teams do not charge admission for regular season matches, several teams that do charge admission have released their season-ticket and single-match ticket options.

New college men’s volleyball national award named in honor of Ball

The National Setter of the Year award will be renamed to honor one of the best setters in college men’s volleyball and USA Volleyball history.

Off the Block announced Monday that the new national college men’s volleyball award will be named after former IPFW All-American setter and four-time U.S. Olympian Lloy Ball.

Finalists selected to host men’s volleyball NCAA Tournaments in 2015-18

After more than a dozen of bids were sumbitted, it’s now down to seven finalists to host the men’s volleyball NCAA Tournament in the upcoming years.

The NCAA announced Wednesday afternoon that BYU, UCLA, IPFW, Ohio State, Penn State, USC and Stanford were all selected as finalists to play host to a NCAA Tournament between 2015 to 2018.

10 intriguing sites where to play future NCAA Tournaments

All the bids are in, but where the men’s volleyball NCAA Tournament will be played in the upcoming seasons remain uncertain.

The NCAA on Wednesday is scheduled to announce the finalists and potentially the host sites for the 2015-18 NCAA Tournaments. While the NCAA did not reveal the names of the more than 20 bids submitted to host an upcoming men’s volleyball NCAA Tournament, there are several locations that could be ideal venues for the event.

New Lees-McRae coach Schmidlin adds old team IPFW to 2014 schedule

A former IPFW assistant coach will go up against his Hall of Fame mentor in non-conference play this upcoming season.

Lees-McRae with its new head coach Dave Schmidlin have agreed to play a road non-conference match against IPFW during the 2014 season.

Schmidlin spent 10 seasons as an assistant under AVCA Hall of Fame coach Arnie Ball and helped guide the Mastodons to two NCAA Tournament appearances in the 1990s. In addition, Schmidlin spent time as a head coach at Cardinal Stritch before being hired as Lees-McRae new head coach in April.

Princeton adds Ball State, IPFW to 2014 non-conference schedule

Changes are coming to Princeton’s non-conference schedule for the upcoming season with more Midwest teams traveling to Dillon Gym.

Princeton coach Sam Shweisky said earlier this week in an interview with Off the Block that his team will play home non-conference matches against Ball State and IPFW during the 2014 season.
