2015 Off the Block All-Independent Team released

Eight college men’s volleyball players were selected to the inaugural Off the Block All-Independent Team on Monday.

The Off the Block All-Independent Team honors the top men’s volleyball players on teams in NCAA Division I-II or transitioning to NCAA Division I-II that competed as independents without a conference this season. Similar to an all-conference team, the All-Independent Team recognizes outstanding individual performances during the regular season. Stanford adds Concordia, Holy Names to 2015 schedule

The team that was one match away from winning the national championship last year will play three non-conference matches against emerging NCAA Division I-II programs next season.

Stanford as part of unveiling its 2015 regular season announced that it will have a home match versus Holy Names and play a home-and-home series against Concordia-Irvine.

Emerging NCAA Division II team Holy Names hires Oliver as head coach

Holy Names University will stay within its own athletics department for its next men’s volleyball head coach.

Athletics director Cesar Cardenas announced earlier this week that Holy Names women’s volleyball coach Ali Oliver will assume the men’s volleyball head coaching responsibilities for the upcoming season.
