Erskine outside attacker Roberto Perez Vargas showed on the court why he was an Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. Freshmen All-American Team selection earlier this year but it wasn’t enough to get Puerto Rico past Canada.
Vargas had a match-high 30 kills as Puerto Rico forced a decisive fifth game before losing to Canada 25-23, 25-27, 25-23, 23-25, 15-10 on Thursday in El Salvador at the NORCECA U-21 Continental Championships.

Middle attacker Conrad Kaminski as one of the few Midwest players on Stanford’s roster made the most of his team’s NCAA Tournament opener in Chicago.
Kaminski had a match-high six blocks as the No. 3 seed Stanford swept the No. 6 seed Erskine 25-14, 25-16, 25-16 on Tuesday in the NCAA Tournament play-in round on Tuesday at Gentile Arena.

The long awaited expansion to the NCAA Tournament will finally be experienced tonight.
The inaugural NCAA Tournament play-in matches will begin with the No. 3 seed Stanford and its lengthy history of NCAA Tournament success playing the No. 6 seed Erskine in its first NCAA Tournament appearance.
