Hawai’i, Lewis, UCLA middles named finalists for 2019 Ryan Millar Award

A nationwide voting committee selected Hawai’i middle attacker Patrick Gasman, UCLA middle attacker Daenan Gyimah and Lewis middle attacker Tyler Mitchem as finalists for the annual Ryan Millar Award.

Hawai’i, Long Beach, Pepperdine outsides named finalists for 2019 Karch Kiraly Award

A nationwide voting committee selected Long Beach State outside attacker TJ DeFalco, Hawai’i outside attacker Stijn van Tilburg and Pepperdine outside attacker David Wieczorek as finalists for the annual Karch Kiraly Award.

The Karch Kiraly Award, which is named after the former UCLA All-American and U.S. Olympian, is presented to the nation’s best outside attacker in NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball during the regular season. Off the Block to present inaugural Dain Blanton Diversity Award for college men’s volleyball

A new college men’s volleyball national award that celebrates the diversity in the game will be named in honor of a former Pepperdine great.

Off the Block unveils 2019 Freshmen All-American Team

A nationwide voting committee selected 10 players to the annual Off the Block Freshmen All-American Team that was unveiled Friday.

The Off the Block Freshmen All-American Team honors the top NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball freshmen players from the regular season. This is the seventh year Off the Block has presented the national honor, which remains the only Freshmen All-American Team presented in college men’s volleyball. Video: No. 5/5 UCLA sweeps No. 14 Concordia-Irvine to keep MPSF title hopes alive

No. 5/5 UCLA out-hit No. 14 Concordia-Irvine, .322 to .110 en route to a sweep on Thursday night in Westwood.

The Bruins also used five blocks in the second game to out-block the Eagles 8 to 5 on the night. UCLA middle attacker Grant Maleski had three of the Bruins’ six aces, while Opposite Daenen Gyimah had a match-high 14 kills.

No. 5/5 UCLA swept No. 14 Concordia-Irvine on Thursday night in Westwood to keep its slim chances at a No. 1 seed in the MPSF Tournament alive.

The Bruins started off slow, but took control in the middle of the first game thanks to a 7-0 run with middle attacker Grant Maleski serving. Maleski also had a 6-0 run in the second game, and ended with a season-high three aces.

MPSF Tournament: Possible seeding scenarios, postseason berths

Three teams still have a chance to win the MPSF regular season title and the No. 1 seed for the conference tournament entering the final week of the regular season.

The top seed in the MPSF Tournament gets a first-round bye and plays host to the semifinals and finals. In addition, the No. 2-4 seeds in this seven-team tournament field earn the right to host the first-round match at home. Video: Grand Canyon freshman provides health update after suffering medical emergency

Grand Canyon outside attacker Camden Gianni months after undergoing heart surgery is hoping to return the to a volleyball court if he passes all his medical evaluations in the upcoming months.

Gianni said in an interview with Off the Block senior contributor Brandon Johnson on Sunday that he will have stress tests in April and July that will determine when he can begin playing volleyball again. Finalists announced for Off the Block National Player of Month

Off the Block selected the finalists, and now it is up to the fans to determine who should be the college men’s volleyball National Player of the Month.

The Off the Block National Player of the Month recognizes the best individual performances from NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball players during the month and gives volleyball fans from around the world the chance to determine who was the best player. Audio: USC assistant discusses sweeping BYU, recent winning streak

Setter Chris Hall for the second time in a week guided the offense to hit more than .400 in a home victory against a top-10 nationally ranked team.
