Two of the top high school players from Illinois and Missouri will remain in the Midwest for their college careers.

Former Loyola outside Leclair passes away

A former player who helped Loyola earn three top-10 finishes in the national rankings during his college career died during the weekend.

Dane Leclair, 22, died on Sunday in Lincoln, Nebraska, where he was serving as a graduate student manager for the Nebraska women’s volleyball while pursuing a master’s degree. Continue reading “Former Loyola outside Leclair passes away”

NCAA title studded Ohio State, Long Beach agree to non-conference match for 2020

The two teams that have combined to win the last four NCAA championships will face each other during the upcoming season.

MIVA adds five new inductees to conference’s hall of fame

Five former all-conference players who led their teams to championships will receive an honor only reserved for the best players and contributors in MIVA history.

The oldest college volleyball conference announced Monday that Purdue Fort Wayne’s Jay Golsteyn, George Williams’ Ken Mattison and Marv Zimmerman, Lewis’ Victor Rivera and Ball State’s Keith Thornburgh were all selected to be inducted into the MIVA Hall of the Fame. Hawai’i, Loyola starters make U.S. roster for NORCECA Championship Cup

Two of the top players in college men’s volleyball will represent the United States at an upcoming international tournament.

Puerto Rico knocks off United States to earn fifth-place finish at Pan Am Games

Puerto Rico will end the Pan American Games with a top-five finish thanks in part to one of the youngest players on its roster.

Purdue Fort Wayne outside attacker Pelegrin Vargas had nine kills on a 47.37 percent offensive efficiency as Puerto Rico defeated the United States 22-25, 25-21, 25-22, 20-25, 15-8 in the tournament’s fifth-place match on Saturday in Lima, Peru.
