Daley, Feathers, Tavana named finalists for Blocker of the Year

A nationwide voting committee selected Pacific middle attacker Sean Daley, USC middle attacker Robert Feathers and BYU middle attacker Futi Tavana as finalists for the Off the Block Blocker of the Year.

The Off the Block Blocker of the Year award is given to the nation’s best front-row defensive men’s volleyball player during the regular season. To be eligible for this award, a player must be on the active roster of a Division I-II men’s volleyball team.

Off the Block announces 2012 Men’s Volleyball Reporter All-American Team

Eight college journalists were selected to the inaugural Off the Block Men’s Volleyball Reporter All-American Team.

The Off the Block Men’s Volleyball Reporter All-American Team recognizes the season’s top men’s volleyball reporters from college newspapers around the nation.

Winners announced for EIVA, MIVA, MPSF Reporters of the Year

Daily Bruin reporter Chris Kalra, The Ball State Daily News reporter Andrew Mishler and The Daily Collegian reporter John Stuetz were selected as the 2012 Off the Block Men’s Volleyball Conference Reporters of the Year.

The Off the Block Men’s Volleyball Conference Reporters of the Year recognizes the best college newspaper reporters in the EIVA, MIVA and MPSF.

Winner, finalists announced for Best Men’s Volleyball Online Coverage of the Year

The Ball State Daily News is the winner of the second-annual Off the Block Best Men’s Volleyball Online Coverage of the Year.

Princeton outside Kessel wins Fan Choice Player of the Month

Princeton outside attacker Cody Kessel received a record number of votes to win the Off the Block Fan Choice Player of the Month for February.

Kessel received 42.72 percent of the total vote to beat runner-up BYU middle attacker Russell Lavaja by 42 votes out of more than 2,000 votes cast for this national college men’s volleyball award.
