Saint Francis remains unbeaten in NEC, sweeps Fairleigh Dickinson

Saint Francis keeps on winning in conference play.

Outside attacker Brady Stump had a match-high 15 kills as Saint Francis swept Fairleigh Dickinson 25-14, 25-21, 25-22 on Saturday in Hackensack, New Jersey to remain undefeated in the NEC.

Stump had six kills in the final game, including a kill to jumpstart 5-1 run to close out the match and complete the sweep. The junior also did not commit more than one attack error in the first two games and finished with a .379 attack percentage.

Stump was one of two Red Flash players with double-digit kills.

Outside attacker Andrew Deardorff had 12 kills on a team-best .429 attack percentage with a game-high seven kills coming in the third game.

Saint Francis held Fairleigh Dickinson to a negative-.500 attack percentage in the opening game and for the match out-hit the Knights .309 to negative-.025.

Middle attacker Nicholas Lynch led all players with six blocks, while outside attacker Cole Dorn added five blocks.

Fairleigh Dickinson pin-hitter Jamal Ellis Carballo had a team-high seven kills but was held to a zero attack percentage. No Fairleigh Dickinson player who had more than three kills finished with more than a zero attack percentage in the loss.

Saint Francis with this victory remains in sole possession of first place in the NEC with four remaining conference matches.

This is the first year that the NEC will receive an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
