United States unveils roster for U21 NORCECA Championship

The roster is set for the U.S. team that will try to clinch a berth to the FIVB U21 World Championship.

USA Volleyball announced Friday its 12-person roster for the upcoming NORCECA U21 Continental Championship.

Hawai’i, UCLA and USC led the nation with each having two players make the U.S. roster. Along with these schools,Long Beach State, Loyola, Pepperdine, Princeton and UC Santa Barbara all have a representative on the team.

The Continental Championship begins Wednesday in Mexico and is a qualifying event for the U21 World Championship next year.

Among the players to make the U.S. Men’s Junior National Team includes multiple members of the 2023 U.S. Boys’ Youth National Team. The United States finished in fourth place at the U19 World Championship last year – the nation’s best finish at the international tournament.

This will be the first time the United States has competed at the NORCECA U21 Continental Championship since 2018. The country also last won the bi-annual event in 2016.
