What to know: It doesn’t get any easier for No. 8/9 BYU during its season-long home stand. BYU after losing twice to No. 2/2 Grand Canyon last week will now play a two-match conference series against No. 4/3 UCLA. The defending NCAA champions enter road series fifth in the nation with a .356 attack percentage, including hitting .463 in a sweep against No. 11 Pepperdine on Saturday. All-American middle attacker Merrick McHenry leads the Bruins with a .489 attack percentage and has hit more than .400 in 11 consecutive matches. McHenry also had double-digit kills three times during this stretch of matches highlighted with a season-high 11 kills on a .600 attack percentage against No. 1/1 Long Beach State. UCLA is on a three-match winning streak since moving All-American outside attacker Ethan Champlin to libero. Champlin in the three matches at libero has a combined 28 digs and has committed one reception error. BYU has lost four of its last six matches during its 10-match home stand. Outside attacker Luke Benson leads the Cougars and is fourth in the MPSF with a 3.29 kills per game average. Benson during the home stand has double-digit kills in four matches, including a season-high 21 kills against No. 5/6 UC Irvine.
