There will be West Coast vibes in the middle of winter at Harvard.
Harvard as part of unveiling its 2024 schedule announced it will play host to both Grand Canyon and UC Santa Barbara at the Harvard Invitational on Feb. 2-3.
This will be the first time since 2019 that the Crimson will have home non-conference matches versus teams from the Big West or MPSF.
Grand Canyon ended last season reaching the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history and finished at No. 5 in the national media poll. Among the starters returning for the Antelopes includes All-American outside attacker Jackson Hickman and opposite Camden Gianni who recently played for the United States at the Pan American Cup.
UC Santa Barbara despite starting the season in the national rankings finished in fourth place in the Big West. Big West All-Freshman pin-hitter Owen Birg highlights the Gauchos starters returning in 2024.
UC Santa Barbara is undefeated in six all-time against Harvard, including a home sweep last season. This upcoming non-conference match also will be the first time UC Santa Barbara has traveled to Harvard since 2010.
This will be the third time in the last five seasons Harvard and Grand Canyon have played each other. The Antelopes swept a two-match series against the Crimson in 2022, and Grand Canyon won the inaugural meeting between teams in 2020.
