A former UCLA starter and member of the Canada Men’s Junior National Team is making the move to Pepperdine.
Pepperdine announced via social media on Wednesday that Cole Ketrzynski will join the Waves as a graduate transfer for the 2024 season.
Ketrzynski accumulated almost 500 career kills in four seasons with the Bruins and finished the 2021 season in the nation’s top 15 averaging 3.98 kills per game en route to earning First-Team All-MPSF honors. The pin-hitter also primarily came off the bench as a defensive specialist last season and contributed to the Bruins winning the NCAA championship.
Along with playing at UCLA, Ketrzynski has multiple years of international tournament experience.
Ketrzynski led Canada in kills in a gold-medal match loss to Cuba at the 2022 Pan American Cup. In addition, Ketrzynski helped Canada earn a top-10 finish at the 2021 FIVB U21 World Championship.
Pepperdine one year removed from reaching the NCAA Tournament finished last season in fifth place in the MPSF and lost in the conference tournament quarterfinals.
