There was no dispute about the top team in the nation.
Hawai’i received every first-place vote to finish atop the season’s first Off the Block National Media Poll that was released Tuesday.
The two-time defending NCAA champions opened its season with a two-time series sweep against Ball State during the weekend. The Rainbow Warriors return four All-American starters from their championship team and are now on an 11-match winning streak dating back to last season.
The National Media Poll is the only rankings in NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball solely determined by media members. The 10 teams receiving the most votes are ranked in the National Media Poll, while other schools earning votes but finishing outside of the top 10 are considered teams receiving votes.
A new national media poll is released every Tuesday during the regular season on Off the Block’s website.
