A Lincoln Memorial junior who set a program record is now receiving a college men’s volleyball honor.
Off the Block announced Monday that outside attacker Johansen Negron was selected as the Off the Block Independent Teams Player of the Week.
Negron set a single-match school record with 31 kills on a .440 attack percentage as Lincoln Memorial defeated its in-state rival King in four games on Tuesday. The outside attacker also had a match-high 10 kills and hit .615 in a road sweep against Alderson Broaddus on Friday.
The 11 independent teams in NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball this season are Alderson Broaddus, American International, Daemen, D’Youville, Fairleigh Dickinson Limestone, Lincoln Memorial, Long Island, Maryville Queens and Tusculum.
Off the Block determines the Independent Teams Player of the Week based on a variety of factors, including a player’s individual performance and how a player’s team fared during the week.
