Audio: PFW coach reacts to knocking off McKendree in MIVA quarterfinals

Outside attacker Vicente Ibarra had 18 kills on a .517 attack percentage as the No. 6 seed Purdue Fort Wayne upset the No. 3 seed McKendree 26-24, 25-20, 23-25, 25-22 in the MIVA Tournament quarterfinals on Saturday in Lebanon, Illinois.

Ibarra and outside attacker Jon Diedrich led the team in kills and helped the Mastodons out-hit the Bearcats .317 to .231 en route to the team’s first postseason win since 2019.

Along with the offensive performance, the Mastodons had two players with double-digit digs. Opposite Kade Bontrager led all players with a season-high 19 digs, while freshman setter Zach Solomon added 11 digs.
