Fresh off a five-game upset over No. 4 Lincoln Memorial, Quincy re-enters the Division II coaches poll at No. 9 in the poll released on Wednesday morning.
The Hawks defeated the Splitters in a neutral site match at the Lindenwood Invitational on Sunday afternoon. Quincy had four players with double-digit kills, led by opposite Nathan Lawton’s 20. Setter Jonas Holzinger had a career-high 52 assists to go along with a dozen digs.
Concordia-Irvine remains on top, garnering five of the seven first place votes. Lewis received the other two first place votes this week.
The Division II match of the week is later tonight when King travels to North Greenville, in a battle of top-three teams in the ConfCarolinas standings.
Both NCAA Division I and NCAA Division II men’s volleyball programs compete for the same national championship. The AVCA National Coaches Poll ranks the top 15 Division I-II men’s volleyball teams and is released each Monday during the regular season.
A national voting committee comprised of coaches from the more than 25 Division II teams determines the weekly rankings for the Division II National Coaches Poll.
The Division II National Coaches Poll will be released on the Off the Block website every Wednesday during the regular season.
