Long Beach State is back atop the National Media Poll.
The Beach after a three-week absence from the top spot returned to No. 1 in the latest Off the Block National Media Poll that was released Tuesday.
Long Beach State swept a two-match series against UC Santa Barbara during the weekend to move into a tie for first place in the Big West. In addition, the team edged out No. 2 Penn State and UCLA each by five points.
The National Media Poll is the only rankings in NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball solely determined by media members. The 10 teams receiving the most votes are ranked in the National Media Poll, while other schools earning votes but finishing outside of the top 10 are considered teams receiving votes.
A new national media poll is released every Tuesday during the regular season on Off the Block’s website.
