What to know: Two long-time Southern California rivals face each other in downtown Los Angeles as the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos travel to face the USC Trojans. After losing their first two matches of the season to the Trojans, the Gauchos have found their groove as of late, winning four straight matches against ranked opponents, including taking down Pepperdine twice during that stretch. Outside attacker Ryan Wilcox has collected double-digit kills in three straight matches, and the Gauchos have also received strong setting from both Patrick Paragas and Conor Dunn. For the Trojans, opposite Simon Gallas leads the team in kills and aces, and has formed a potent duo on the pins along with graduate transfer Sam Kobrine. Setter Chris Hall has set the offense to a .347 attacking clip on the season
