Fresh off one of the biggest wins in program history, No. 8 Daemen is ranked for the first time this year in the Division II coaches poll released on Wednesday morning.

Daemen, who went undefeated last year, defeated Princeton on the road in five games on Sunday afternoon.

Additionally, Limestone is ranked for the first time in this year’s poll at No. 10.

While the top five of the poll remains the same, Concordia-Irvine tied McKendree for No. 2 in this week’s poll with 83 points each.

Benedict becomes the third separate SIAC team to receive votes in this year’s poll, joining Fort Valley State and Central State.

There are some big head-to-head Division II matches on the docket this weekend, highlighted by No. 5 Lincoln Memorial hosting No. 2 McKendree on Saturday. Queens will be hosting Charleston, Limestone, and Barton for a series of four matches over Friday and Saturday.

Both NCAA Division I and NCAA Division II men’s volleyball programs compete for the same national championship. The AVCA National Coaches Poll ranks the top 15 Division I-II men’s volleyball teams and is released each Monday during the regular season.

A national voting committee comprised of coaches from the more than 25 Division II teams determines the weekly rankings for the Division II National Coaches Poll.

The Division II National Coaches Poll will be released on the Off the Block website every Wednesday during the regular season.
