Princeton had a match-best .571 attack percentage in the final game as it defeated UC Santa Barbara 22-25, 25-18, 31-29, 25-13 on Wednesday in Santa Barbara, California.
Setter Henry Wedbush guided the offense to out-hit the Gauchos .313 to .163 for the Tigers’ first win of the season. In addition, Princeton had three players with double-digit kills in the finale of a season-opening four-match West Coast road trip.
Middle attacker Nate Thompson coming off the bench had a career-high 11 kills and one error on a .556 attack percentage. Outside attacker Ben Harrington finished with a team-high 14 kills, while opposite Nyherowo Omene added 10 kills.
Brady Wedbush in the victory had eight kills on a perfect 1.000 percent attack percentage. Brady Wedbush along with Henry Wedbush and Thompson each also led Princeton with three aces.
The Tigers ended with 12 aces – six more aces than Guachos.
