A two-time all-region selection from Arizona will join the defending MPSF champions.

BYU coach Shawn Olmstead announced recently that high school senior Trenton Moser has signed a scholarship to play for the Cougars starting in 2023.

Moser, a 6-foot-8 pin-hitter from Gilbert, Arizona, earned first-team all-region honors with his high school team in 2019 and 2021. He also ended last season making the first-team all-conference.

“We can’t wait to have Trent be a part of Cougar nation,” Olmstead said in a statement. “Trent is an athletic, long, volleyball player who can play the game in all six rotations. He’s been coached well at all levels and has family ties to the sport. As men’s volleyball is continuing to grow in the state of Arizona, it’s exciting to see the talent level rise.”

BYU in 2021 won the MPSF championship for the first time in three years and advanced to the NCAA Tournament finals. Despite having to replace multiple All-American starters from that team, the Cougars for the upcoming season still return All-American outside attacker Davide Gardini.
