Argentina — Outside attacker Ezequiel Palacios ended with 14 kills on a .500 attack percentage and added a team-high two aces in a five-game victory against the defending Olympic silver medalists Italy.
Brazil — Outside attacker Yoandy Leal had a match-high 15 kills on a .591 attack percentage in a sweep against the host nation Japan.
Canada — Opposite Ryan Joseph Sclater had a team-high 12 kills on a .579 attack percentage in a three-game loss to Russia.
France — Opposite Jean Party finished with a match-high 19 kills on a .529 attack percentage in a five-game win against Poland.
Italy — Outside attacker Osmany Juantorena led Italy with 19 kills and hit .563 in a five-game loss to Argentina.
Japan — Outside attacker Yuki Ishikawa led Japan with 13 kills, two blocks and two aces in a three-game loss to the defending Olympic gold medalists Brazil.
Poland — Outside attacker Wilfredo Leon had a tournament-best 28 kills on a .610 attack percentage in a five-game loss to France.
