After receiving votes in the last two polls, North Greenville is finally ranked in this week’s Division II coaches poll released on Tuesday. The Crusaders, who enter the poll at No. 9, are 9-2 overall after winning their last four matches.

North Greenville ranks No. 2 nationally with a .144 opponent attack percentage and No. 4 nationally with 2.732 blocks per game. Individually, the Crusaders are led by outside attacker Jackson Gilbert, who leads the team with 4.24 kills per game and 0.537 aces per game. Gilbert set the program record last Saturday with 25 kills in a four game victory over Queens.

No. 2 Lewis gained three first-place votes in this week’s poll after not receiving any last week. The Flyers, who swept both of their matches last weekend versus Ball State, travel to No. 1 McKendree on Friday night.

The Top six remain the same from last week, but Quincy moves up one spot to tie fellow MIVA rival, Lindenwood, at No. 7. Belmont Abbey dropped out the poll.

Both NCAA Division I and NCAA Division II men’s volleyball programs compete for the same national championship. The AVCA National Coaches Poll ranks the top 15 Division I-II men’s volleyball teams and is released each Monday during the regular season.

A national voting committee comprised of coaches from the more than 15 Division II teams determines the weekly rankings for the Division II National Coaches Poll.

The Division II National Coaches Poll will be released on the Off the Block website every Tuesday during the regular season.
