What to know: The Gauchos and the Beach for a series finale of a home-and-home series on Sunday. UC Santa Barbara earned their first conference win of the year, defeating Long Beach State in four games on Saturday. The win was the Gaucho’s first win over Long Beach State since 2015. UC Santa Barbara was led defensively by junior outside attacker Ryan Wilcox’s career-high 18 digs. Offensively, the Gauchos outhit the Beach, .301 to .128, and were led by outside attacker Roy McFarland’s 15 kills. The Beach, who played their first match in 379 days, had three players with nine kills each. Long Beach State setter Aidan Knipe, son of coach Alan Knipe, made his first collegiate start and had 39 assists in the loss.
