Sacred Heart postpones pair of matches vs George Mason

A pair of matches scheduled for Saturday, February 13, and Sunday, February 14 between Sacred Heart and No. 12 George Mason have been postponed due to a positive COVID-19 case within Tier I personnel within the Big Red program.

Sacred Heart is off to a 0-2 start, having lost both matches to NJIT last weekend. They are led by seniors, libero Tim McIntosh and outside attacker Shawn Tishler, who were both named EIVA preseason players to watch.

George Mason is off to a 5-1 start, having won both of their only conference matches so far – vs. Charleston last weekend. The Patriots lead the nation with a .343 attack percentage, and are No. 3 nationally in both kills per game (13.17) and assists per game (12.22).

Sacred Heart is scheduled to return to play on Saturday, February 20 against Penn State, while George Mason is scheduled to return to play on Friday, February 19 versus Saint Francis.

Sacred Heart is the seventh NCAA Division I/II men’s volleyball program to pause their program due to COVID-19 safety protocols, and the first from the EIVA.
