Lewis postpones pair of matches versus Ball State

A fifth NCAA Division I/II men’s volleyball program has been put on pause this year. No. 4/4/ Lewis announced they have postponed a pair of matches scheduled for this weekend against No. 14 Ball State due to COVID-19.

No. 4/4 Lewis, who is also the top ranked team in the Division II coaches poll, ranks second nationally with 3.42 blocks per game and fifth nationally with a .309 attack percentage.

Individually the Flyers are led by Tyler Mitchem, who has been named Middle Attacker of the Week twice this year already. He ranks first nationally with a .534 attack percentage and third nationally with 1.48 blocks per game.

Ball State ranks tops in the nation with 14.17 kills per game and second nationally with 13.00 assists per game. Individually, Setter Quinn Isaacson is second nationally with 11.14 assists per game, while opposite Blake Reardon is third nationally with 4.42 kills per game.

Last weekend, the Flyers (6-1) suffered their first loss of the year at No. 14 Ohio State. Ball State is at 5-1, having won their last five matches.

The matches have been rescheduled for March 5 and 6.

Lewis hosts Purdue Fort Wayne on February 19 and 20, while Ball State hosts Lindenwood on February 20 and 21
