Hernandez, a 6-foot-4 setter from Fishers, Indiana, helped his high school team win a state championship in 2018. He also has accumulated more than 400 career assists, 25 career aces and 100 career assists entering his senior season.

“I am excited to add Aaron to the Ball State men’s volleyball family,” Ball State coach Joel Walton said in a statement. “Aaron is a gifted setter with high level experience which is hard to come by in players from Indiana. Aaron has done a good job of leading teams from Indiana to high finishes in national tournaments and we expect his competitiveness to be a nice addition to our team.”

Ball State concluded the shortened 2020 season receiving votes in the national coaches poll and in third place in the MIVA.
