The reigning three-time ConfCarolinas Offensive Player of the Year will be changing conferences.
Ball State as part of recently releasing its latest roster revealed that All-American opposite Angelos Mandilaris will join the team for the upcoming season.
Mandilaris transferred from Barton after finishing last season third in the nation with a 4.43 kills per game average and in the country’s top 15 with a career-best .412 attack percentage. He had double-digit kills in all but two matches during that senior season, including a match-high 25 kills in an upset sweep against Loyola.
The Greek native concluded the shortened 2020 season as a finalist for the Bryan Ivie award and for the third straight year was a finalist for the Division II National Player of the Year.
In his four seasons at Barton, Mandilaris led the Bulldogs to two ConfCarolinas championships and two NCAA Tournament appearances. He also set program records with 1,360 career kills and 149 career aces and became the first player in ConfCarolinas history to earn All-American honors.
Ball State ended last season in third place in the MIVA. The Cardinals return a majority of starters in 2021 but will be without graduated All-MIVA pin-hitter Matt Szews.
