Four months into her new position and coach Caitlin Bullock has already added three recruits to the Lees-McRae roster.

The recently promoted head coach announced recently that Nic Brewster, Riley Chapman and Caden Ritchey have all committed to play for the Bobcats starting in the 2021 season.

“This freshman class is going to add more depth to our roster,” Bullock said in a statement. “They are bringing in a lot of excitement and willingness to get better and to change our program for the better. They are a talented group that we are excited to get started with and we cannot wait to see what they bring to each position with competitiveness, intensity and a championship mentality. We are looking forward to seeing this group grow for the next four years.”

Brewster, an outside attacker from Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, was an All-Western Pennsylvania Team selection with his high school team.

Chapman, a setter from Lilburn, Georgia, was selected to the USA Volleyball High Performance A1 Team for both indoor and beach volleyball. He also helped lead his club team to a silver medal at the AAU Nationals earlier this year and a gold medal at the 2019 Florida Fest.

Ritchey, a libero from Shorewood, Illinois, helped his high school team during his junior season win a sectional championship and reach the state tournament quarterfinals. In addition, Ritchey with his club team was named to the Junior Volleyball Association Watch List.

Lees-McRae finished 3-12 during the shortened 2020 season because of the coronavirus pandemic, including going 3-4 under Bullock following a midseason coaching change.

Bullock, who was already serving as the Lees-McRae women’s volleyball head coach, was promoted from interim head coach to head coach of the men’s volleyball in April.
