A Loyola starter is transferring to USC for the 2021 season.
USC announced that middle attacker Danny Sutton Farrell will return to his home state and play for the Trojans next season.
Farrell as a redshirt freshman last season was in the starting lineup for the Ramblers’ first three matches last and played in the first seven matches before suffering an injury. In those seven matches, Farrell averaged 0.96 blocks per game and had a team-high six blocks in a four-game road loss to UC Irvine.
The 6-foot-8 middle attacker was a two-time all-conference selection while playing for his high school team in Westlake Village, California. He also finished with a .479 attack percentage during his senior season.
USC, a year removed from reaching the NCAA Tournament, opened the 2020 season at No. 12 in the national coaches poll and was 5-14 at the time the season was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic.
