Opposite Evan Cory for the second consecutive week is earning a college men’s volleyball accolade.
Off the Block announced Monday that the Lincoln Memorial was selected as the Off the Block/Frisco Mo Independent Teams Player of the Week.
Cory had both a match-high 17 kills on a .484 attack percentage and seven digs in a sweep against Queens on Friday. The opposite also led all players with 20 kills on a 410 attack percentage, four aces. and 13 digs as Lincoln Memorial defeated Limestone in four games on Saturday.
With these victories, the Railsplitters extended their winning streak to seven matches.
The Independent Teams Player of the Week recognizes the best player during the week from NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball teams that are competing without a conference affiliation.
The seven independent teams this season are Alderson Broaddus, Daemen, Lincoln Memorial, Queens, St. Francis-Brooklyn, Tusculum and Urbana.
Off the Block determines the Independent Teams Player of the Week based on a variety of factors, including a player’s individual performance and how a player’s team fared during the week.
The winner of the Independent Teams Player of the Week is unveiled every Monday during the regular season on the Off the Block website, offtheblockblog.com.
