Audio: Sullivan reacts to No. 2 Springfield rallying to beat No. 1 SUNY New Paltz

Opposite Jarrett Anderson had his biggest performance in the biggest match so far this season.

Anderson led all players with a match-high 21 kills on a .317 attack percentage as No. 2 Springfield rallied to beat No. 1 SUNY New Paltz 25-23, 25-27, 19-25, 25-15, 15-10 on Friday at the International Volleyball Hall of Fame Morgan Classic semifinals.

The opposite also had three of the Pride’s 13 aces in the non-conference match-up between the top-two teams in NCAA Division III men’s volleyball.

Serving specialist Astin Sesoko finished with a match-high four aces, including having the game-winning ace in the first-game overtime. Springfield rallied from a 19-13 deficit in the opening game to force overtime and earn the victory.

Setter Matt Lilley guided the Pride to more than a .300 attack percentage in four of the five matches as Springfield out-hit SUNY New Paltz .235 to .139.

Three SUNY New Paltz players had double-digit kills with opposite Aaron Carrk having a team-high 15 while hitting .333.
