Opposite Zach Yerington led all players with a season-high 36 kills on a .466 attack percentage as Daemen overcame a two-game deficit to upset Lincoln Memorial 15-25, 19-25, 25-23, 25-23, 18-16 on Sunday in Urbana, Ohio.
Daemen led 13-9 in the decisive fifth game before the two-time defending IVA champions rallied to force overtime. Yerington had three kills in the six-point overtime, including back-to-back kills to close out the match.
Opposite Evan Cory in the loss finished with 23 kills on a .373 attack percentage.
This was Daemen’s second victory on Sunday as part of the Urbana Tri-Match. Yerington also had 10 kills to help the second-year program defeat Urbana 25-17, 25-19, 23-25, 25-14.
