The top high school players in the nation are earning one more accolade before beginning their college careers.
The AVCA announced on Wednesday the 20 players selected to the 2019 AVCA Boys High School Senior All-American Team.
This annual honor is the nation’s only high school All-American team for boys’ volleyball. Players eligible for the team had to be a senior and their head coach needed to be a member of the AVCA.
Penn State led all teams with three incoming recruits earning All-American honors. In addition, Concordia-Irvine, Lewis, Long Beach State and Loyola each had two recruits selected to the team.
Along with these teams, Ball State, CSUN, Daemen, Lincoln Memorial, Purdue Fort Wayne, St. Francis, Stanford, UC Irvine and UC San Diego each had one recruit named an All-American.
California was the state that produced the most All-Americans with nine selections, while Illinois finished in second with six players.
