What to know: Following a closely contested five-set thriller against Lewis last night, UC Santa Barbara is now 3-0 against MIVA teams this season and is looking to make 4-0 when they face Loyola Chicago tonight. The Gauchos lead the program series 2-1 against the Ramblers, with their first loss coming in a four-game match last season in Chicago. Both teams are coming in with momentum on their side, with Loyola-Chicago having won their last six and UCSB winning their last three. Loyola-Chicago is 2-1 against ranked teams, with their lone loss a five-set heartbreaker against No. 4 UC Irvine. What to know: Both teams are coming off losses last night to ranked foes. Lewis lost in #CincoSets to No. 10 UC Santa Barbara, despite getting 11 blocks each from TJ Murray and Tyler Mitchem. Lewis was the preseason pick to win the MIVA, but they are still looking for their first win against a ranked opponent. Middle attacker Tyler Mitchem leads the Flyers with 76 kills on the season, while attacking at .520 clip. His team-high 31 blocks is good for a 1.07 blocks per game average. On the other side of the net, CSUN is coming off a sweep to No. 5/5 Loyola, where Ksawery Tomsia had 13 kills and Dimitar Kalchev had 12 kills.
