AVCA unveils 2018 high school boys’ volleyball All-American Team

The high school careers for 19 NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball incoming recruits have officially concluded with one of the top national accolades.

The AVCA announced on Wednesday the recipients of the annual Boys’ Volleyball High School Senior All-American Team.

Ohio State led all schools with four incoming freshmen making an All-American Team. The three-time NCAA champions were one of six teams with multiple recruits selected as All-Americans joining Grand Canyon, Pepperdine, UC Irvine, UC San Diego and UCLA.

BYU, Loyola, Penn State and the defending national champions Long Beach State each had one recruit named an All-American.

A nationwide voting committee of high school coaches determined these All-American honors. Players eligible for consideration had to be high school seniors and their high school head coach had to an AVCA member.

The All-American Teams are comprised of players from six states.

California had the majority of All-Americans with 12 players. In addition, Illinois finished second with four All-Americans, while Arizona, Florida, New York and Virginia each had one All-American.
