An all-state outside attacker who set a school record for blocks will continue his volleyball career at Ball State.

Ball State recently announced that high school senior Felix Egharevba has committed to play for the Cardinals beginning in 2019.

Egharevba, who is from Naperville, Illinois and will major in nursing, finished with more than a .300 attack percentage in back-to-back high school season and as a junior set his school’s single-season record with a 1.01 blocks per game average. He also was a third-team all-state selection and made the state’s all-tournament team three times in his career.

“I chose Ball State because it fit me both academically and athletically,” Egharevba said in a statement. “I had a great bond with the guys and felt like I was a part of the team on my official visit. The coaches are great and I believe I can be successful under their coaching.

This is the fourth player to commit to Ball State for the upcoming season. The Cardinals announced in December that all-state middle attacker Nick Martinski, outside attacker Kaleb Jenness and outside attacker Brandon Shepard will join the team in 2019.

Ball State finished last season in third place in the MIVA and advanced to the conference tournament semifinals. Among the starters returning for the Cardinals next season includes All-MIVA setter Jake Romano.
