Hawai’i is the latest team to benefit from the Long Beach State bump in the strength of schedule rankings.
The Rainbow Warriors jumped 11 spots to No. 4 in the strength of schedule rankings released Monday following their two-match weekend series against the previous undefeated 49ers.
This is the second best strength of schedule ranking for a team in Off the Block’s bracketology projected to be under NCAA Tournament consideration. BYU leads all teams under NCAA Tournament considerations at No. 3, while UC Irvine is No. 5 in strength of schedule rankings.
Strength of schedule is one of the criteria categories the selection committee uses to determine the NCAA Tournament field. Strength of schedule, winning percentage and opponent strength of schedule also are components for the mathematical formula used to determines a team’s RPI ranking.
The strength of schedule rankings will continue to be updated throughout the postseason until NCAA Tournament field is unveiled Sunday.
