So much for No. 5/5 UCLA being in an offensive slump.
Middle attacker Daenan Gyimah led all players with 17 kills on a .889 attack percentage as UCLA defeated No. 7/7 Pepperdine 25-17, 17-25, 26-24, 25-17 on Wednesday in Los Angeles to move into sole possession of second place in the MPSF.
UCLA entered having lost four of its last five matches and hitting less than .225 in three matches during that stretch. However, the Bruins out-hit the Waves .412 to .255 and had more than a .400 attack percentage in three of the four games.
Along with Gyimah, outside attacker Jake Arnitz and opposite Christian Hessenauer each added 13 kills in the victory.
