OTB, Springbak launch U21 World Championship bracket challenge

The United States is entering the final round of the FIVB U21 World Championship, and now it’s time to fill out your bracket for a chance to win a $5 gift card from Off the Block and a prize-package from Springbak, Inc.

Off the Block announced Thursday that the participant of the Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. U21 World Championship Bracket Challenge who correctly predicts all the 13th-place classification match results will be awarded a $5 gift card to the restaurant of their choice. In addition, the individual who correctly predicts the most match results will receive a prize-pack from Springbak, Inc.

The 13th-place classification is comprised of the four teams that finished in the bottom-half of the two consolation pools at the World Championship. Both the United States and Japan finished in third place in their pools, while Morocco and the Czech Republiv finished the four-team pools in last place.

The United States will play Morocco in the the 13th-place semifinals on Saturday, while Japan and the Czech Republic will play each other in the other semifinal match. The semifinal winners will advance to the 13th-place finals on Sunday.

Bracket challenge participants can fill out their bracket online at challonge.com or at the bottom of this post. Before filling out a bracket, individuals will be asked to create an account on Challonge. Creating an account on Challonge is free and takes less than a minute to complete.

In the event there are multiple perfect brackets, the gift card will be randomly selected from the perfect brackets. Also, if there is a first-place tie one contestant from the first-place brackets will be randomly selected for the Springbak, Inc. prize. The winner will be notified via email.

This contest is organized by Off the Block and is not affiliated with the FIVB or USA Volleyball.

Brackets can be submitted up until the 11 p.m. (CST) on Friday.
