Video: Missry and company leads UCLA in sweep of Sacred Heart

Outside attacker Dylan Missry made sure there would not be a chance for a wild non-conference upset at the John Wooden Center.

Missry finished with both a match-high 10 kills on a .625 attack percentage and three aces as No. 6/6 UCLA swept Sacred Heart on Friday in the first all-time meeting between the two programs.

The sophomore committed zero attack errors against the Pioneers (12-4, 5-2 EIVA). In addition, UCLA (14-7, 8-6 MPSF) had a combined five attack errors in the first two games and ended the match out-hitting Sacred Heart .380 to .016.

This was third consecutive match that UCLA senior Hagen Smith started in place of All-American setter Micah Ma’a, who has been playing this season with an injury. Along with guiding the team’s offense to hit more than .300 in all three games, Smith contributed an ace and four digs.

All-EIVA opposite Christopher DeLucie in the loss had a team-high six kills and three blocks.
