What to know: There could hardly be a more daunting opponent for McKendree in one of its program’s biggest home matches. McKendree for the first time in its four-year program history has a non-conference home match against a nationally ranked team as it plays host to No. 4/4 Hawai’i. The Rainbow Warriors enter their first non-conference road trip in 21 years on a seven-match winning streak and jumped to a season-high No. 4 ranking in the latest national polls. Opposite Stijn van Tilburg is sixth in the nation with a 4.12 kills per game average. The sophomore also has double-digit kills in six matches during the current winning streak, including a match-high 10 kills and zero attack errors on a .526 attack percentage in a sweep against Cal Baptist last week. Hawai’i defensively has a nation-best 2.64 blocks per game average. In addition, middle attackers Hendrik Mol and Patrick Gasman are both in the nation’s top 20 averaging at least 1.00 blocks per game. McKendree is on a four-match losing streak but nearly upset No. 7/7 Lewis before losing in five games on Saturday. Opposite Maalik Walker had a team-high 18 kills in the loss versus the Flyers to help improve his 3.49 kills per game average. Walker also led McKendree with 21 kills in a five-game season-opening loss to No. 9/10 Pepperdine. Along with Walker, middle attacker Wyatt Patterson is leading the nation with a .547 attack percentage and hit at least .500 in seven matches versus nationally ranked teams this season.

What to know: The game has grown in Tennessee and that will now be on display. For the second time in NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball history, two teams from Tennessee will play each other as Lincoln Memorial plays host to King. King sweep the first-year program Lincoln Memorial in both teams’ season opener in January. In addition, the Tornado enter this non-conference match on a seven-match winning streak and a half-match out of first-place in the Conference Carolinas standings. Outside attacker Jeff Sprayberry is fifth in the conference with a 3.27 kills per game average, including a match-high 11 kills in the previous win against the Railsplitters. Setter Nick Drooker also is fourth in the nation averaging 0.63 aces per game and has multiple aces in all three matches he has played in this season. Despite being on a three-match losing streak, Lincoln Memorial is undefeated at home with victories against Alderson Broaddus and Lees-McRae. Freshman outside attacker Evan Cory leads the Railsplitters with a 2.68 kills per game average. He also has double-digit kills and at least four digs in five matches so far this season. King has the best winning percentage of all the teams remaining on Lincoln Memorial inaugural schedule as the Railsplitters prepare for the IVA Championship Tournament in April.
