What to know: The only obstacle preventing Mount Olive from finishing the first half of the conference season undefeated is its biggest rival and the preseason conference favorite. Mount Olive will attempt to extend its first-place lead in the Conference Carolinas and its winning streak to seven matches as it plays host to Barton. It also remains one of the two teams in the nation undefeated in conference play after rallying from a two-game road deficit to beat King during the weekend. Setter Jeff Yasalonis in the comeback had a season-high 56 assists and guided the Trojans offense to a .324 attack percentage, including hitting more than .400 in two of the final three games. In addition, opposite Robert Poole had a match-high six aces and 16 kills against King for his ninth match with double-digit kills so far this season. Poole leads the Conference Carolinas with a 3.79 kills per game average and is second in the conference averaging 0.55 aces per game. Barton enters this rivalry match one-and-half matches behind Mount Olive in the conference standings and suffered a five-game loss versus King on Saturday to end a five-match winning streak. Outside attacker Vasilis Mandilaris trails only Poole in the conference with a 3.53 kills per game average. In addition, opposite Angelos Mandilaris has a 3.29 kills per game average on a .329 attack percentage. The freshman has double-digit kills in three of the four matches since returning to the court after not playing for three weeks. Barton has a conference-best .298 attack percentage and has hit .321 in conference matches. Setter Federico Pagliara also leads the conference and is eighth in the nation with a 10.50 assists per game average.
