A two-time men’s volleyball Paralympian will join the Sacred Heart coaching staff.
Sacred Heart announced recently that it hired Eric Duda to be an assistant coach for the upcoming season.
Duda was a member of the U.S. Men’s Sitting Volleyball Team in the 2004 and 2016 Paralympics. He also helped lead the United States to three silver-medal finishes at the Parapan American Games during the last 10 years.
Along with this playing career, Duda has more than a decade of coaching experience at the club level and college.
Duda spent the last 11 years as a head coach for the Oklahoma Peak Performance Volleyball Club and guided three teams to qualify for nationals. In addition, he led Redlands Community College to a combined 70-57 record from 2010-14 and before that was an assistant coach with Central Oklahoma for six seasons.
Sacred Heart under first-year head coach Greg Walker ended last season in sixth place in the EIVA. The Pioneers also return multiple starters for the upcoming season, including all-conference opposite Christopher DeLucie.
