The best NCAA Division III men’s volleyball players at each position will now be nationally rewarded for their outstanding performances.
Off the Block announced this weekend that it, along with its sponsor Springbak, Inc., will present five new annual position-based national awards for Division III student-athletes.
The National Setter of the Year, the National Opposite of the Year, the National Outside Attacker of the Year, the National Middle Attacker of the Year and the National Libero of the Year will each debut this summer to recognize the most outstanding Division III player at their position during the recent season.
While several other volleyball organizations present Division III national honors, these will be the first nation position-based awards in the history of Division III men’s volleyball. Off the Block also has presented similar position-based national awards for Division I-II men’s volleyball players during the last three seasons.
Each of the five Division III national awards will be determined by a nationwide voting committee comprised of Division III head coaches.
The top three vote-getters for each award will be named finalists. In addition, the player receiving the most votes for each award will be named the inaugural winner.
Off the Block will announce the finalists of all five national awards on Thursday. The national winners will be unveiled June 13-17.
Off the Block is a college men’s volleyball website that launched in 2011 and is among the nation’s leaders in college men’s volleyball coverage. Springbak, Inc. is the official sponsor the new Division III national awards and produces high performance footwear used by professional athletes from the NFL, NBA, MLB and U.S. Olympic teams and the top college teams in the nation.
