Schedule released for 2016 college men’s volleyball national awards

Off the Block unveiled Friday its schedule for announcing the finalists and winners for all the college men’s volleyball national awards it will present this season.

The college men’s volleyball website each season presents a variety of national player and media awards that recognizes outstanding individual performances in NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball during the regular season.

The annual awards that Off the Block will presents are the Lloy Ball Award for the nation’s best setter, the Bryan Ivie Award for the nation’s best opposite, the Karch Kiraly Award for the nation’s best outside attacker, the Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. Freshmen All-American Team, the Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. National Blocker of the Year and the Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. National Server of the Year. In addition, this will be the inaugural season Off the Block presents the Erik Shoji Award for the nation’s best libero and the Ryan Millar Award for the nation’s top middle attacker.

All the player awards presented by Off the Block are voted upon by a nationwide committee comprised of college men’s volleyball head coaches and media members. The winners of the media awards are determined by Off the Block following a season-long media analysis of college men’s volleyball coverage.
