A majority but not every player making the recently unveiled Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. Preseason All-American Team is likely to earn All-American honors at the end of the 2016 season based on recent trends.
Of the Preseason All-American selections in the last four years, 60.7 percent have ended the year receiving AVCA All-American honors.
The Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. Preseason All-American Teams started for the 2012 season in an effort to recognize NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball players projected to be the best during the upcoming season. It also remains the only Preseason All-American Team presented in college men’s volleyball.
The voting committees and voting procedures are different for the Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. Preseason All-American Teams and the end-of-season AVCA All-American Teams. However, both annual All-American Teams feature a first-team and a second-team that are each typically comprised of 10 players.
