A Ball State men’s volleyball player is getting free tuition for a semester because of his basketball skills.
Ball State freshman outside attacker Lemuel Turner made a half-court shot to earn the free tuition prize at a contest during the school’s annual freshmen pep rally event on Thursday in Muncie, Indiana.
Among the people that Turner celebrated with on the court immediately after making the basket included Ball State coach Joel Walton.
Turner was a multiple first-team all-conference selection with his high school team in Illinois and set the school record for single-season blocks. He also played on his high school basketball team.
