Video: No. 10 Long Beach out-lasts No. 9 UCLA to win in 5 games

It wasn’t pretty at times but No. 10 Long Beach State finished getting a critical conference road victory against a top-10 ranked team.

Long Beach State despite being out-hit .255 to .237 overcame a one-game deficit to defeat No. 9 UCLA 20-25, 25-23, 27-25, 23-25, 15-11 on Friday in Los Angeles.

The 49ers had four players finish the match with double-digit digs, including Bjarne Nikolai Huus who had a team-high 15 digs in his second match as the team’s starting libero. In addition, outside attacker Dan Glamack added 12 digs and led Long Beach State with 15 kills.

The Bruins in the loss committed a season-high 25 service errors — 14 more service errors than the 49ers.

UCLA freshman outside attacker J.T. Hatch also had a match-high 23 kills, while outside attacker Christian Hessenauer finished with 20 kills.
