A majority but not all of the players selected to the most recent Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. Preseason All-American Teams will earn All-American honors at the end of the season, if recent historic trends continue.
Of the Preseason All-American selections in the last three years, 61.3 percent have also finished the year receiving AVCA All-American honors.
The Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. Preseason All-American Teams started for the 2012 season in an effort to recognize NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball players projected to be the best during the upcoming season. It also remains the only Preseason All-American Team presented in college men’s volleyball.
The voting committees and voting procedures are different for the Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. Preseason All-American Teams and the end-of-season AVCA All-American Teams. However, both annual All-American Teams feature a first-team and a second-team typically each comprised of 10 players.
