North Greenville has yet play a regular season match in its program history, but it already has received an early-signing commitment from a high school all-conference player.
The Crusaders as they prepare for their upcoming inaugural season announced recently that high school senior Grayson Lawrence signed a national letter of intent to join North Greenville in 2016.
Lawrence, a 6-foot-3 outside attacker from Richmond, Virginia, eared first-team all-conference honors as a senior after leading his high school team to an undefeated regular season. The outside attacker earlier this year helped his club team win the Old Dominion Regional Championship.
This is the first Conference Carolinas school to announce its newest recruiting class during the early-signing period that started in November.
North Greenville will make its college men’s volleyball debut in 2015 and will play its program’s inaugural match against the defending-MPSF regular season champions Pepperdine. In addition, the Crusaders are one of two NCAA Division I-II schools in the nation beginning their men’s volleyball programs next season.
